About Carbon
Carbon's Digital Light Synthesis process projects ultraviolet light through an oxygen-permeable window into liquid resin. Oxygen maintains a thin uncured interface at the window while the part forms above it and the build platform rises. With dual-cure materials, printing establishes the shape and a subsequent oven cycle activates a second chemistry to develop the final polymer properties. Its material selection spans rigid engineering resins and elastomers, with single-cure and third-party dental resins also supported.
The hardware range includes M2, M3, M3 Max and large-format L1 printers, supported by print-preparation, fleet-management and print-analytics software. Carbon Design Engine generates conformal lattices so engineers can tune a part's mechanical response through geometry. Printer subscriptions include software updates, maintenance and support; customers can also commission parts from production partners. This combines in-house manufacturing and outsourced part production around the same printing process.
