About EOS

EOS pairs laser powder-bed machines with qualified powders and process parameters. Its DMLS metal process spreads fine powder across a build platform and selectively melts each layer according to a CAD model. Polymer selective laser sintering uses surrounding unfused powder to support the build, allowing complex shapes without separately printed support structures. Customers can combine this equipment with consulting, training and worldwide technical service.

Fine Detail Resolution extends the polymer range to delicate structures. For Festo's BionicBee, manufacturing partner 1zu1 used an EOS FORMIGA P 110 FDR system and PA 1101 polymer to print the aircraft's internal lattice frame. The frame houses motors, a battery, a gearbox and electronics. This production example connects EOS's printer, material and process expertise to a compact flying robot, while its broader equipment serves aerospace, automotive, medical and other industrial manufacturing.
