About Kitty Hawk

Kitty Hawk developed several electric-aircraft programmes, including the single-seat Flyer and the autonomous Cora air taxi. Cora used multiple lift rotors for vertical flight and a fixed wing with a rear propeller for cruise. The programme combined electric propulsion, fly-by-wire control and autonomous flight systems for short passenger journeys.

Boeing and Kitty Hawk formed Wisk Aero in 2019 around the Cora programme, transferring the aircraft and much of the related development into the joint venture. Kitty Hawk continued separate work before announcing its closure in 2022. Wisk remains the continuing commercial organisation associated with the Cora lineage.
