About Saga Robotics
Saga Robotics develops and operates the Thorvald modular agricultural robot platform. Founded in 2016 from Norwegian University of Life Sciences research, the company moved Thorvald from university development into commercial strawberry and vineyard operations. Its principal service uses autonomous electric robots to apply UV-C light against powdery mildew while collecting crop imagery for flower, fruit and ripeness analysis.
The company supports deployments through teams in Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States rather than selling an unsupported general-purpose chassis. Saga reported more than 150 Thorvald 3.0 robots active during the 2025 season, covering 20% of the UK tabletop-strawberry market and nearly 1,300 acres of California vineyards. The modular platform can carry additional crop-care tools, but availability depends on region, crop and service configuration.
