About Stratasys
Stratasys' P3 process uses a projector to cure successive resin layers while controlling temperature, pull forces and pneumatics. Its Origin printers work with rigid, heat-resistant and elastomeric photopolymers, including formulations developed with chemical suppliers. After printing, parts are cleaned, supports are removed where needed, and a separate ultraviolet cure completes the workflow. Engineers can alter geometry without commissioning a new injection mould, making the process useful when designs or production quantities are still changing.
Customers can operate printers in-house or order finished parts from Stratasys Direct. The service accepts uploaded designs for material selection and quotation, provides engineering guidance for more demanding jobs, and offers hardware installation, assembly and painting. Design decisions such as part orientation, ribs, fillets and drainage affect surface quality, support requirements and cleaning effort. These process choices connect material properties to the cost and practicality of manufacturing a usable component.
