About Trailer Coupler Component Forming System
Acieta's Trailer Coupler Component Forming System uses a FANUC M-2000iC to move heavy blanks through alignment and forming for Great Dane. Vacuum end-of-arm tooling carries a part from inbound handling to a gravity table that establishes its orientation, then presents it to a 750-ton Cincinnati press.
The robot also removes formed parts and places them on an outbound pallet, keeping the repeated lifting and transfer steps within the automated sequence. The installation addresses coupler components previously handled by two or three operators per cycle. Acieta reports that the resulting process reduced the five-minute cycle to one minute while taking over the movement of 120-pound pieces.
