1X has opened preorders for NEO, offering $20,000 Early Access with priority US delivery in 2026 and a planned $499-per-month subscription at a later date. The 28 October launch turns its home humanoid programme into a commercial offer following the Beta and Gamma research versions.
NEO is designed for chores such as tidying, organising shelves and folding laundry, alongside conversational assistance. The robot uses tendon-drive transmissions, soft body coverings and articulated hands, with its design intended to support movement around people in domestic spaces.
The launch includes an important human-assistance component: owners can schedule a 1X expert to remotely guide tasks the robot has not learned. Early operation therefore combines learned capabilities with human support, rather than assuming every household job is autonomous.
1X plans to begin primarily in the United States in 2026 and expand to other markets from 2027. Those dates are delivery targets attached to preorders, not a disclosure of completed customer shipments.
