In an operating statement issued on 21 October, the company said those deliveries completed its scheduled vessel obligations, while work continues to upgrade the existing fleet and integrate additional mission equipment. The existing GARC contract received several modifications during 2026, taking its total value to approximately $350 million and extending performance through June 2027, according to AEVEX. Current work includes mine-countermeasure packages that the company says are conducting missions in the Strait of Hormuz. AEVEX reports more than 25,000 cumulative hours of US Navy operations across fleets and unmanned task forces. It says GARC participated in the RIMPAC 2026 sinking exercise and carried out an autonomous live-fire strike. The statement also says the Navy continues funding payload integration, upgrades and mission-specific capabilities for fielded vessels. BlackSea's GARC platform uses a modular architecture for different payloads and supports autonomous and remote operation. Its listed missions include reconnaissance, communications relay and mine countermeasures. That configuration allows the fleet's mission equipment and software to evolve after the boats have entered service. The disclosure follows AEVEX's acquisition of BlackSea Technologies and its expansion into maritime autonomy. AEVEX is also developing next-generation Chaser and Comet surface vessels. Its statement responded to reports about procurement and performance, with the company saying vessel deliveries had finished and no additional GARC procurement had been planned while existing boats were allocated across commands and missions.
