The definitive agreement is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions. World Labs develops models that generate, reconstruct and simulate interactive 3D environments from text, images and video. Its robotics work expanded when it acquired SceniX in July. The companies are combining spatial models with simulation and real-world learning for robot training and evaluation. The acquisition gives AMD closer access to the models and research shaping future compute demand. AMD says World Labs will inform its hardware, software and systems roadmaps as AI workloads expand across reasoning, robotics, simulation and physical AI. World Labs said it has already worked with AMD on model training and inference optimization using AMD GPUs. In February, World Labs raised $1 billion, with AMD among its investors. After the acquisition closes, Fei-Fei Li is expected to join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist, reporting to CEO Lisa Su. Justin Johnson and Ben Mildenhall are expected to continue leading the World Labs team with her. --- Have a robotics update Korthos should review?
