New investors include US Innovative Technology Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners and Temasek. The San Francisco company says the round brings its total funding to nearly $1 billion and will support more autonomous construction-equipment deployments across the United States. Founded in 2024 by former Waymo engineers, Bedrock develops autonomy systems that retrofit contractors' existing heavy equipment, starting with excavators. Its Bedrock Operator system is designed to perceive a changing job site, plan movements and execute excavation work around the crews and equipment already present. The company began fully autonomous excavation on live commercial sites for paying customers in August 2026. Contractor Haydon is deploying Bedrock-equipped machines for earthwork at a remote Texas site. The companies plan to extend testing to trenching and larger machine models. Newly named contractors also include Wagner Construction in Minnesota, Smith Trucking Company in Florida, B&S Site Development in Virginia, Native Excavating in Colorado, Clarkson Construction in Missouri, C.W. Matthews in Georgia and selected ArchKey Solutions projects in Arkansas. Bedrock's earlier commercial operating update described repetitive truck loading as an initial application, with sensor coverage around the machines supporting awareness of the working area. The longer-term development programme includes additional machine types and coordinated mixed fleets. The new financing will also fund field support and operating teams as installations spread across more contractors and regions. The Series C follows a $270 million Series B announced in February at a $1.75 billion valuation. Bedrock is adding operational leadership alongside the deployment expansion: Amy Jones Satrom joins as vice president of operations after work at Amazon, Nuro and Uber, while former Uber autonomous-mobility legal executive Lando Juarez joins as general counsel.
