The Berlin-based company said Quadroin was selected from nearly 100 applications. Quadroin was originally developed through work with Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon for the Helmholtz Association’s MOSES environmental-monitoring initiative. Early prototypes were used to collect water data around ocean eddies. Ahead of the award, EvoLogics expanded the platform with side-scan sonar, underwater cameras and onboard object recognition. Those additions broadened Quadroin beyond environmental sampling toward autonomous survey and inspection missions, combining underwater mobility with sensing and onboard perception.
