Investors included Cox Enterprises, USIT, XN, Founders Fund and Y Combinator. The release did not state a dollar amount raised in the round, so the valuation is not a proxy for new funding. Gecko uses specialised climbing inspection robots and its Cantilever software platform to collect and analyse asset-condition measurements in energy, industrial and defence infrastructure. The physical inspections produce information about corrosion, material condition and structural risks, building a record for customers maintaining industrial assets. The software layer allows the company to connect recurring inspections with maintenance decisions rather than selling only crawler hardware. The financing follows partnerships with NAES on energy infrastructure, L3Harris on an extended-reality product and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company on industrial asset monitoring. Gecko plans to use the capital to expand work across defence, energy and manufacturing. These programmes combine measurements collected from physical assets with Cantilever’s analysis tools to support maintenance, operations and modernisation decisions.
