The system targets high-density storage in existing warehouses, combining Automha’s shuttle technology with Jungheinrich’s integration, software and lifecycle services. The intended starting configuration retains industrial trucks for pallet transport while the shuttle automates movement within the storage system. Operators can subsequently automate transport processes and add technologies such as Jungheinrich mobile robots. This allows warehouse changes to be introduced in stages as throughput and operating requirements develop. Jungheinrich will bring the shuttle together with racking, conveyor technology, software integration and service as part of a coordinated warehouse system. The product is designed to increase storage density while working within existing buildings and IT environments, giving customers a way to modernise pallet handling without major structural changes. The partners say development from concept to market readiness took nine months. Jungheinrich reports that the shuttle solution is already used in more than 200 projects across over 25 countries. The partnership adds that technology to its wider automation portfolio, with ongoing support spanning project planning, integration and operation.
