The Wall Street Journal reports roughly $40 million in share sales, primarily involving employee holdings. RobCo’s own announcement does not disclose the transaction size or the split between new capital and secondary proceeds. New investors Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective joined existing backers including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Greenfield, Kindred, Lingotto and Promus Ventures. RobCo says its valuation has doubled in nine months. The transaction follows its $100 million Series C in January, co-led by Lightspeed and Exor-owned Lingotto to expand enterprise deployments, deepen its U.S. presence and develop its Physical AI stack. The WSJ reports that RobCo has sold more than 1,000 robots. Its customers include BMW, while its systems automate palletising, machine tending, dispensing and welding. RobCo delivers its platform through a Robotics-as-a-Service model combining modular hardware, software, deployment and ongoing support, allowing manufacturers to adopt automation without purchasing standalone cells upfront. RobCo entered the U.S. in 2025 through a San Francisco headquarters, assembly operations in Austin and the acquisition of assets from Rapid Robotics. By September 2025, it said customer operations spanned 14 states. Its latest announcement identifies the U.S. as its fastest-growing market, supported by manufacturing and assembly in Austin and a San Francisco lab; co-founder and CEO Roman Hölzl has relocated to the U.S. to lead the expansion. In April, RobCo introduced Autonomous Alfie, a dual-arm system under development for variable factory tasks such as materials handling, assembly and palletising. Alfie combines perception and execution to adapt to changing objects and workflows with less manual programming. RobCo now plans its commercial launch at RobCoN in Munich on March 4, 2027. In June, RobCo signed a partnership with Koenig & Bauer to embed its robotics platform directly into industrial machinery, initially focusing on finishing operations and production systems. The first customer installation is planned for Q1 2027, with the companies targeting a three-digit number of deployments over time.
