Edition: Week of July 27, 2026 Archive: true Section: Production and supply chain Company: ROBOTIS Date: Jul 27 2026 Source: https://biz.chosun.com/en/en-industry/2026/07/27/E2H4Q7GO7JCCNFJTNMWEASCM2Y/ Profile: /ecosystem/company/robotis ROBOTIS CEO Kim Byeong-soo said the company was unable to accept roughly half of incoming actuator orders as demand exceeded its production capacity. Second-quarter sales in China had already surpassed the 80,000 actuators sold there during all of 2025. The figures concern its actuator business, whose customers include robot manufacturers and research organisations. ROBOTIS produced approximately 220,000 actuators in 2025 and was increasing output by 60–70% in 2026. Its Uzbekistan plant is intended to support actuator and robot production and the collection of Physical AI training data, with a longer-term annual actuator-capacity target of five million units. The company is also preparing its bipedal AI Sapiens robot for sale, using complete robots to demonstrate its joints and control technology. Company: Leadshine Date: Jul 30 2026 Source: https://www.leadshine.com/newsEvent/details/leadshine-gains-spotlight-on-cctv-finance-as-humanoid-robotics-demand-accelerates.html Profile: /ecosystem/company/leadshine-technology Leadshine disclosed that its frameless-motor orders on hand exceeded one million units in 2026, following a July 28 CCTV Finance appearance by its humanoid-robotics business manager. These are orders awaiting fulfilment. The company supplies motors, integrated actuators and dexterous hands used to drive and control robot joints and manipulation systems. Leadshine also expects annual dexterous-hand shipments to exceed 10,000 units and says integrated-actuator sales have grown rapidly. It is expanding capacity and production planning to meet the demand. The figures show growth across its robotics components, while the company’s broader industrial-automation business continues to supply motion-control products to manufacturers. Company: Tesla Date: Jul 22–23 2026 Source: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1318605/000162828026049213/exhibit991.htm Profile: /ecosystem/company/tesla Tesla confirmed that construction for Optimus had begun at Fremont after the Model S and Model X production lines were decommissioned. It was installing the first-generation robot lines and expected production later in 2026. Initial builds would go to the Optimus Academy for training-data collection and functionality development, while a second robot factory remained under construction in Texas. Separately, Caijing reported supplier requests for capacity equivalent to 1,000 Optimus component sets per week by September and 2,000–2,500 by year-end, within a planning framework of roughly 100,000 sets. Tesla had not confirmed those figures, and suppliers warned that year-end capacity might fall below the wider framework. These are reported component-capacity plans, not measured finished-robot production or deliveries. Company: LG Electronics Date: Jul 10 2026 Source: https://pulse.mk.co.kr/news/all/12095220 Profile: /ecosystem/company/lg-electronics LG Electronics began producing AXIUM robot actuators at its Changwon plant ahead of its original schedule, according to Maeil Business News reporting. The initial units are intended for LG’s home robots at its Yangjae robot data factory, where repeated operation will produce data for improving the hardware before wider external sales. AXIUM combines motors, reducers and drives into compact joint modules. The report says each robot will use more than 20 actuators across nine models, covering shoulders, waist, elbows, wrists and mobility wheels. LG planned approximately 300 robots for the data factory that year, corresponding to more than 6,000 actuators in use. Those figures describe planned internal deployment. Company: Stabilus Date: Jul 29 2026 Source: https://ir.stabilus.com/news/stabilus-se-and-synapticon-enter-into-strategic-partnership-for-the-joint-production-of-integrated-actuators/724bc562-dc20-4596-a12a-4351842c3b54 Profile: /ecosystem/company/stabilus Stabilus and Synapticon formed a partnership to develop and manufacture integrated actuators for humanoids and other robots. The product line will span joint sizes from heads and wrists to hips and knees and be sold under both brands. Small-series production in Europe is planned for 2027, followed by larger-scale North American production as early as 2028. Synapticon contributes drive electronics, sensors, control software and functional-safety expertise. Stabilus provides mechanical design, sourcing, industrialisation, manufacturing and logistics. Stabilus has held a minority stake in Synapticon since 2021; the new agreement extends that relationship into joint products and production capacity for robotic actuation. Company: Samsung Electro-Mechanics Date: Jul 30 2026 Source: https://www.samsungsem.com/global/newsroom/news/view.do?id=10462 Profile: /ecosystem/company/samsung-electro-mechanics Samsung Electro-Mechanics said in its second-quarter results that it would expand into humanoid cameras alongside specialised camera products for next-generation electric-vehicle platforms. Its robot-camera work includes high-resolution recognition modules and compact camera technology for precise object grasping, extending its smartphone and automotive optics experience into robot perception. Maeil Business News reported on July 23 that Samsung Electro-Mechanics had begun pilot production at its Vietnam base for an unnamed major US customer, with quality stabilisation and mass-production validation underway. That pilot and customer relationship are reported by the newspaper. The July earnings announcement confirms the company’s humanoid-camera programme without naming the robot manufacturer. Company: HyProMag USA Date: Jul 27 2026 Source: https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/MKA/hypromag-usa-to-establish-early-magnet-finishing-as8oic8mebihpu1.html Profile: /ecosystem/company/hypromag-usa HyProMag USA brought forward the planned finishing stage of its Texas magnet hub, targeting equipment commissioning and initial finished NdFeB magnet production in the first half of 2027. The initial operation will shape and finish up to 20 tonnes of magnet blocks supplied from HyProMag’s UK and German operations for US customers. That finishing line will let the company qualify products to customers’ dimensions, coatings, tolerances and performance requirements while the integrated hub is developed. The broader facility’s magnet-scrap processing section is targeted for the second quarter of 2028, when US feedstock would begin entering domestic recycling and manufacturing. Both dates are development targets. The first stage brings customer-ready magnet production forward without establishing a fully domestic recycling chain immediately. Company: Tianhe Magnetic Materials Date: Jul 30 2026 Source: https://paper.cnstock.com/html/2026-07/30/content_2249946.htm Profile: /ecosystem/company/tianhe-magnetics Tianhe Magnetic Materials established a Guangdong subsidiary with RMB12 million of registered capital, subscribing RMB10.8 million for a 90% interest. Shenzhen Liantuo Intelligent Machinery Partnership holds the remaining 10%. The company’s filing says registration was complete and a business licence had been obtained. Section: Other developments Company: Federal Communications Commission Date: Jul 28 2026 Source: https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-26-786A1.txt The FCC added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List on July 28, blocking covered equipment from receiving new equipment authorisations. The action follows an executive-branch national-security determination concerning supply-chain vulnerabilities, networked control, surveillance and cybersecurity risks. It applies to the foreign-produced category rather than naming only Chinese manufacturers. The notice provides a conditional-approval process through which manufacturers can seek a determination that a device or class of devices does not pose the identified risks. For robotic devices, that determination is made by the US defence department. The restriction changes the authorisation path for affected new models entering the US market; it does not establish a production limit or a tariff.
