Financial terms were not disclosed. FarmWise develops vision-guided field machinery that identifies crops and removes weeds mechanically. Its Vulcan system is designed for vegetable production, where closely spaced crops require selective treatment and manual weeding can be labour intensive. Taylor Farms said the acquisition would support wider adoption of the technology in specialty crops. Taylor Farms planned to begin assisting with the transition immediately to maintain service for existing Vulcan customers. The buyer produces salads and fresh foods through facilities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Combining the robotics business with a major produce operator gives the technology a larger agricultural operating base and continued customer-support organisation.
