Niron Magnetics broke ground on a 190,000-square-foot Sartell, Minnesota facility planned for 1,500 tons per year of rare-earth-free permanent magnet production.

  • The Sartell plant is planned to expand Niron capacity for Iron Nitride permanent magnets used in robotics, defense, drone equipment, motors, and electronics.
  • Niron said the facility is expected to become operational in early 2027 and create more than 175 full-time manufacturing, engineering, and operations jobs.
  • The scale-up follows the company’s Minneapolis pilot plant and sampling activity with commercial partners.
