University of Bergen receives five Slocum G3 gliders
Teledyne Webb Research sold and delivered five deep-rated Slocum G3 autonomous underwater gliders to the University of Bergen for long-duration oceanographic research under Norway’s NorEMSO infrastructure programme.
Evidence notes
- The order comprised two deep rechargeable gliders and three deep endurance gliders, all rated to 1,000 metres.
- Long-endurance configurations were designed for deployments exceeding ten months; rechargeable units targeted more than four months.
- The gliders were equipped for hydrographic sections across Norway, Fram Strait and the Greenland and Iceland seas.
