Agile Robots was founded in 2018 as a DLR spin-off. The group says more than 20,000 robotic solutions are deployed worldwide. Its smart-manufacturing systems combine robotics, AI and AgileCore software.

Agile ONE was announced on November 19, 2025 for material handling, machine tending and pick-and-place tasks.

Agile completed its acquisition of idealworks in September 2025. The BMW Group spin-off supplies an automation platform, AMRs and robotics software for industrial automation and intralogistics. BMW remained a long-term partner after the acquisition.

Then in March 2026, Agile announced a partnership with Google DeepMind to combine Gemini Robotics with its industrial robotics platform.

The company also became an anchor customer for Europe’s first Industrial AI Cloud from Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA.

Agile closed its acquisition of thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering on April 1, 2026, after announcing the transaction in November 2025. According to the companies, the deal adds around 650 experts and 10 locations across Europe and North America, including engineering, systems integration and established industrial customer relationships.
