Agility selects NVIDIA IGX Thor as exclusive onboard compute for Digit 5
The general-availability Digit 5 will standardise on IGX Thor as Agility extends its NVIDIA Halos safety collaboration.

Agility Robotics will standardise Digit 5’s onboard computing on NVIDIA IGX Thor modules, establishing NVIDIA as the exclusive onboard-compute supplier for the general-availability version of the humanoid. Announced on 22 October, the change brings a common computing architecture to the robot as Agility prepares it for manufacturing, warehouse and distribution customers.
The computing transition is tied to Agility’s proprietary safe human-detection system. Agility is integrating IGX Thor and additional NVIDIA Halos models into that system to expand perception capabilities and support its certification and deployment work. The system is part of the engineering needed for a humanoid to operate around people in industrial spaces.
Agility will also participate in NVIDIA’s Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab. The planned evaluation covers safety-related software, AI components and cybersecurity protections ahead of final third-party certification. This connects the choice of onboard hardware with the testing of the perception and software functions running on it.
The announcement follows Digit 5’s September unveiling. Agility reports more than 65,000 hours of real-world operation across its robots, providing experience from earlier systems as it develops the next generation’s hardware, software and safety architecture.
Early access to Digit 5 is expected in the first half of 2027. Agility plans to increase availability over the following six to nine months, with the unified compute platform forming part of that commercial rollout.
