Airtificial wins robotic assembly-line contract for Cupra battery cooling systems

Airtificial announced a robotic assembly-line contract on 21 February 2025 for an unnamed German Tier-1 supplier serving SEAT’s Cupra electric and hybrid vehicle programmes. Its Intelligent Robots division will engineer, manufacture and deliver the turnkey system from its Manresa plant in Barcelona province.

The line will manufacture and assemble welding-control systems used in battery-cooling units. Airtificial’s scope includes processing modules and quality testing intended to control the joining process and verify the finished systems.

The specified line measures 3.5 by 2.5 metres and has a 22-second cycle time. Electric actuators and precision instrumentation will support battery-flatness checks with micron-level repeatability, according to the company. The German component supplier is the direct customer; the announcement does not disclose the contract value.
