Aule Space selects Dawn SatDrive propulsion for autonomous docking mission
A binding hardware contract will equip Aule’s satellite-servicing demonstrator with propulsion for rendezvous and docking with an unprepared target spacecraft.

Dawn Aerospace signed a propulsion supply contract with Aule Space on 9 September 2026, moving their partnership from an MoU into a binding hardware agreement. Dawn will deliver a customised SatDrive system for Aule’s planned rendezvous, proximity-operations and docking demonstration.
Aule’s autonomous jetpack spacecraft is designed to approach and attach to existing satellites for life extension, inspection and debris mitigation. The demonstration targets non-cooperative docking: the satellite being approached provides neither a dedicated docking interface nor active assistance. SatDrive’s nitrous-oxide and propene propulsion will supply the responsive manoeuvring needed to approach, align with and capture the passive target. Delivery is scheduled ahead of the mission.
The contract follows Dawn’s US$25 million Series B in June 2026, led by Balerion Space Ventures at a US$195 million post-money valuation. At that point, Dawn reported 200 thrusters operating on more than 50 satellites. The financing also supports its Loop orbital-refuelling network, targeting an in-orbit demonstration in 2028, alongside its reusable spaceplane programme.
Dawn had separately completed environmental qualification of its passive docking and fluid-transfer port in November 2024, including pressure, vibration, shock and thermal-vacuum tests. That interface is intended for spacecraft designed to accept servicing and refuelling. Aule’s programme addresses the existing satellite population that lacks such an interface, using an autonomous servicing vehicle to establish the physical connection.
