Beyond Vision raises over €28M to expand autonomous drone production

Portuguese drone developer Beyond Vision has raised more than €28 million in financing co-led by Índico Capital Partners and Lince Capital. ActiveCap, a shareholder since 2024, also participated. The capital will support manufacturing expansion, autonomy research and international sales in defence, security and infrastructure monitoring.

Beyond Vision combines aircraft development with cloud software for planning and managing missions. Its BVT516 fixed-wing vertical-take-off-and-landing drone uses onboard ROS computing and connects to the company’s beXStream platform for remote planning, tracking and fleet coordination. The aircraft’s vertical take-off capability supports operations from confined launch sites, while its winged configuration serves longer-range missions.

CEO Dário Pedro said the investment will fund operational infrastructure and industrial production capacity, alongside further development of AI algorithms and the cloud-management platform. The company had grown to around 150 employees by the announcement and serves military and civilian customers internationally. Founded in 2013, it is a registered NATO supplier.

Its fleet-coordination research also extends across different types of uncrewed vehicles. Beyond Vision participates in ADVISOR, a European programme running from October 2024 to September 2027 that studies cooperation between aerial, surface and underwater systems. The company contributes AI-enabled aircraft, communications and beXStream software to the 30-organisation consortium.
