CATL and Galbot extend S1 partnership into batteries and robot servicing
A June strategic agreement builds on the S1’s earlier factory introduction, adding battery technology and an expanded NING inspection, maintenance and recycling network.

CATL and Galbot announced a global strategic cooperation agreement on 24 June 2026, extending their industrial robotics work into battery technology and aftermarket services. CATL said Galbot S1 robots were operating on its module and battery-pack manufacturing lines, handling physically demanding material movement and picking tasks.
The agreement expands CATL’s NING Service Network from vehicle and energy-storage batteries into humanoid robotics, covering inspection, maintenance and recycling, alongside joint development of aftermarket service standards. CATL says the S1’s cells use graded cathode particles, anodes designed to limit lithium consumption and a self-healing electrolyte. Its published robot specifications describe a 50 kg combined dual-arm payload, vision-based positioning at centimetre-level precision, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and up to eight hours of operation.
Galbot had launched the S1 on 20 January, already identifying CATL as an operating factory application. That release described a wheeled industrial manipulator with autonomous dual-battery swapping and visual positioning without QR-code infrastructure. It positioned the heavier S1 alongside Galbot’s earlier G1 platform for retail and warehouse work. June’s agreement develops the battery supply and servicing relationship around that existing industrial platform, including support for maintenance and end-of-life handling as applications expand.
