DJI introduced Dock 3 on 27 February 2025 as its first automated drone dock supporting vehicle-mounted installation alongside fixed deployment. The system combines Matrice 4D or 4TD aircraft with automated launch, recovery and charging for infrastructure inspection, emergency response and other repeatable missions. FlightHub 2 provides remote planning and mission management.
Dock 3 has an IP56 rating, while the Matrice 4D-series aircraft are rated IP55. DJI specifies dock operation from −20°C to 50°C, with preheating enabling startup in temperatures as low as −30°C. These provisions are intended to support outdoor installations in locations exposed to dust, rain and temperature variation.
The Matrice 4D provides visible-light imaging, while the 4TD adds thermal sensing for applications such as inspection and emergency response. Both aircraft can also be used with the RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller away from the dock. Vehicle mounting and support for dual-dock rotation give operators options for relocating launch points and coordinating repeated missions, subject to the flight permissions applicable to each operation.
