ENGINEAI launches PM01 open-development humanoid platform
PM01 launches in Hefei with 24 degrees of freedom, two walking modes and an x86 and NVIDIA Jetson Orin computing architecture.

ENGINEAI has released PM01, a humanoid development platform introduced in Hefei on 24 December. The company’s launch account lists a height of 1.38 metres, weight of 42 kg and 24 degrees of freedom, extending its range beyond the SA01 research platform and SE01 full-size humanoid.
PM01 supports both mechanical and human-like natural walking modes, with a stated movement speed of 2 m/s. A waist motor provides 320 degrees of rotation, while additional mobility in the neck and torso supports more varied whole-body movement. ENGINEAI is positioning the robot for researchers developing and testing embodied control algorithms.
The computing architecture combines an x86 system with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin module. ENGINEAI says the platform improves compatibility and developer access relative to SA01, allowing teams to deploy and validate algorithms across different systems.
The launch coincides with preparations to open ENGINEAI’s Anhui base in Hefei, intended to support manufacturing, market development and coordination with its other operations. The company’s target of annual production and sales exceeding 1,000 robots in 2025 is a company-wide plan, rather than a record of completed PM01 deliveries.
