Gecko and Trident plan robotic manufacturing upgrades across 20 naval fabrication sites

Gecko Robotics and Trident Maritime Systems announced a manufacturing partnership on 21 January 2026 covering 20 fabrication facilities supplying naval components and shipboard systems. The companies aim to increase production throughput by at least 40% through robotics, software and changes to manufacturing workflows.

Gecko will place engineering teams, robotic systems and its Cantilever analysis platform on Trident’s factory floors. The work will map how individual components move through production, identify bottlenecks and introduce hardware and software changes suited to facilities making varied, specialised parts. The throughput figure is a programme target.

Trident supplies products ranging from outfitting and HVAC equipment to power, propulsion, control systems and ship modules. Applying the programme across its facilities is intended to improve capacity and schedule performance within the Navy’s distributed supplier network, where production depends on material availability, labour sequencing and coordination between factories and shipyards.
