Hesai expands US robotaxi LiDAR supply agreement above $40M

Hesai announced on 15 September 2025 that it had expanded a production agreement with an unnamed US-based robotaxi company to a value exceeding $40 million, covering expected LiDAR deliveries before the end of 2026. Hesai said it was selected as the sole supplier for both long-range and short-range laser sensors on the relevant vehicle programme. This was an agreement value and delivery schedule, not revenue already recognised or evidence that all sensors had shipped.
Hesai will supply both long-range and short-range LiDAR for the vehicle programme. These sensors cover complementary tasks: detecting distant objects along the route and maintaining perception close to the vehicle in crowded urban environments. The announcement identifies Hesai as the programme’s sole LiDAR supplier, while leaving the robotaxi company unnamed.
The expanded production agreement covers scheduled supply through the end of 2026 as the customer prepares to scale its autonomous fleet. Hesai’s portfolio spans automotive driver-assistance systems and Level 4 vehicles, including robotaxis and autonomous trucks. The contract’s value describes the agreed sensor supply programme; it does not establish a vehicle count or revenue already recognised.
