Hippo Harvest raises $30M for robotic greenhouse expansion in California
Cox Farms leads financing for a planned Hollister greenhouse and upgraded robotic growing systems.

Hippo Harvest announced a $30 million Series C on 9 July 2026, led by Cox Farms with participation from Congruent Ventures, Hawthorne Food Ventures, Collaborative Fund and Fresh Investment Club. The financing will support a proposed 30-acre greenhouse in Hollister, California, and a new generation of the company’s robotic growing system.
Hippo Harvest uses autonomous mobile robots to move and respace growing modules as plants mature, alongside machine-learning systems for greenhouse management. The Pescadero company produces USDA-certified organic leafy greens and had approximately one acre of growing capacity at announcement. The Hollister expansion was still undergoing permitting.
The company was commercialising indoor-grown spinach after launching butter lettuce earlier in 2026. Retail customers included Sprouts, Haggen and Gus’s Community Markets, with further West Coast expansion planned. The round follows a $21 million Series B closed in February 2024. Cox Farms, owned by Cox Enterprises, adds greenhouse-operating experience to the investor group.
