Hyundai Motor Group unveiled a production-ready MobED platform on 2 December 2025 for the International Robot Exhibition in Tokyo, presenting Basic and Pro variants for industrial and service applications. The modular robot uses four drive-and-lift wheel modules to adapt its posture to uneven terrain. Hyundai targeted commercial availability in the first half of 2026.
MobED is a wheeled base that accepts different upper payloads, allowing customers to configure it for delivery, inspection and other tasks. Its adjustable wheel and chassis geometry helps keep the equipment platform stable as the robot moves across changes in surface height and slope.
The Basic variant is aimed at research and custom integration without preinstalled autonomous-navigation functions. Pro adds LiDAR-camera sensor fusion for autonomous movement and functions including following a person. These configurations develop Hyundai Robotics LAB’s earlier MobED concept into a shared mobility platform for different applications.
