Origin emerges with $20M to expand OG-1 interior construction robotics
The construction robotics company is expanding wall-finishing pilots and targeting 150 deployed robots by end-2027.

Origin emerged from stealth with $20 million in total funding on 15 October 2026, co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures. Other backers include Unilazer Ventures, Schema Ventures, Z21, ISAI and Imad Ventures. The disclosure is cumulative funding rather than a separately sized new round.
Its OG-1 robot applies compound, sands and primes interior walls. The three-wheeled platform uses interchangeable tools, 360-degree perception and force control, working at heights up to 14 feet. Origin’s Construction Action Model combines task reasoning, an action policy and feedback control, trained with simulation and job-site data.
Origin says it deployed its first robots in New York within ten months of founding. Crews handle site mapping and material replenishment. Pilots include two major US drywall contractors, with further trials planned in Germany, Sweden, France and Saudi Arabia. The company targets 150 deployed robots by end-2027 and plans additional trades including taping, drywall installation and drilling.
Founded in 2025 by Yogesh Ghaturle, Ashish Daga and Tushar Makkar, Origin reports task speeds up to three times manual work, a company claim rather than a measured reduction in whole-project timelines.
