Pollen Robotics is turning Reachy Mini hardware into a consumer robotics distribution layer

Hugging Face is expanding Reachy Mini through low-cost hardware, open development resources and applications for the desktop robot.

Hugging Face opened a Reachy Mini app marketplace in May 2026. Axios reported roughly 200 apps at launch and about 10,000 robots delivered or on the way to customers.

Reachy Mini comes from Pollen Robotics, the French open-robotics company Hugging Face acquired in April 2025. Pollen had already built Reachy and Reachy 2 for teleoperation, research, and human-robot interaction; Hugging Face brought that hardware lineage into a software distribution company built around models, datasets, Spaces, and developer community.

Reachy Mini is an 11-inch, 1.5-kilogram desktop robot priced from $299. It has cameras, microphones, speakers and expressive motion, with Python as its main programming language. Pollen markets it to classrooms, hobbyists, researchers and AI developers for speech agents, perception experiments and small robotics applications.

Hugging Face publishes code and supports community apps that owners can download to add robot behaviours.
