Poseidon Aerospace raises US$60M to build Egret autonomous cargo aircraft
The TQ Ventures-led round funds full-scale flight testing, a first production line and commercial and defence logistics programmes after Poseidon’s quarter-scale demonstrator flights.

Poseidon Aerospace closed a US$60 million Series A on 8 September 2026, led by TQ Ventures with investors including JAWS, G Squared, Hanwha Asset Management USA, Starship Ventures, Drover Ventures and Draper Associates. The funding will support full-scale flight testing, the company’s first production line and expansion of its engineering and operations teams.
Its Egret aircraft has an approximately 50-foot wingspan and is designed to carry multiple tons of regional freight. Poseidon targets a first full-scale uncrewed flight by the end of 2026. The company flew Seagull, a quarter-scale demonstrator, during 2025 to test elements of the aircraft design and flight-control architecture.
Poseidon plans to manufacture aircraft and operate its own commercial cargo service. It is targeting regional, remote and underserved routes alongside defence logistics, using the same underlying platform across the two markets. The operating model is intended to increase aircraft utilisation and make routes more responsive to changing cargo demand.
The company’s US$11 million seed announcement in November 2025, led by Tamarack Global, introduced Egret and the Heron seaplane concept. It also disclosed a research agreement with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division and a manufacturing facility in Brunswick, Maine. The Series A concentrates resources on the full-scale Egret test campaign and the production infrastructure needed to move beyond the earlier demonstrator.
