Promise Robotics signs D.R. Horton agreement covering 1,250-plus homes
A multi-year agreement gives the US homebuilder access to automated off-site production, with Promise's Phoenix plant planned for early 2027.

Promise Robotics has signed a multi-year agreement with D.R. Horton to support production for more than 1,250 homes using its robotic Factory-as-a-Service platform. Announced on 13 October, the arrangement makes D.R. Horton, the largest US homebuilder by volume, a commercial customer of Promise's integrated design-to-manufacturing system. Promise also plans a manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona, with production expected to begin in early 2027; the parties did not publish a contract value or timetable for completing all the homes.
Promise takes existing building designs and converts them into production instructions for factory robotics, coordinating component fabrication with factory operations and on-site installation. Builders access shared industrial infrastructure and manufacturing capacity as a service, without having to fund and operate their own automated factories. The system targets repeatable off-site production of construction components rather than autonomous assembly of entire houses at the building site.
The US expansion follows Promise's Canadian operations. Its 60,000-square-foot Calgary robotic factory entered full-scale production in 2025, and a multi-year arrangement with Mattamy Homes covers prefabricated components for several Alberta developments. The D.R. Horton agreement extends that customer model into the US market, although the headline 1,250-home figure represents planned production support, not delivered housing units.
