Siemens, Expert Technologies and RMGroup establish UK AMR manufacturing partnership

Siemens announced a partnership with Expert Technologies Group and RMGroup on 24 February 2026 to establish a UK capability for manufacturing configurable autonomous mobile robots for factory and warehouse material transport. The arrangement combines industrial controls, integration and mobile-robot engineering, with safety systems and industrial Wi-Fi and 5G among the planned supporting technologies.

Expert Technologies Group’s FlexDrive platform uses Siemens SIMOVE controls with path planning, obstacle avoidance and dynamic positioning. RMGroup’s system uses Siemens laser-based navigation software for both guided routes and free navigation, with wireless safety technology that adjusts safety zones according to location. These configurations are intended for moving components between workstations, replenishing production lines and transporting finished goods.

The partners will provide UK manufacturing, integration and support for robots adapted to individual site layouts and loads. The programme also includes industrial Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity and links to Siemens Financial Services for customer financing. Expert Technologies said the platform was designed to support deployments ranging from small installations to fleets exceeding 100 robots; that is an intended capability, rather than an announced customer order.
