Skydio launches X10 enterprise drone with onboard AI and modular sensors

Skydio introduced its X10 drone on 20 September 2023 for enterprise, utility and public-safety operations, combining autonomous flight with modular imaging payloads and onboard NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute. Six 32-megapixel navigation cameras support obstacle awareness, while separate visual and thermal payloads collect inspection and response imagery.

The launch follows Skydio’s decision to end consumer drone sales and concentrate on enterprise and public-sector customers. X10 extends the company’s vision-based navigation with greater onboard computing capacity and configurable mission equipment. Its NightSense capability supports autonomous flight in darkness, while cellular connectivity and Remote Flight Deck enable remote operators to control the drone through a web browser.

Skydio said the aircraft could be deployed from a backpack in under 40 seconds. The company is manufacturing X10 at its 37,000-square-foot facility in Hayward, California. At launch, it reported having delivered more than 40,000 drones across its product range and serving over 1,500 enterprise and government organisations; those totals describe its existing business, rather than X10 deliveries.
