Zipline plans 15,000-aircraft annual manufacturing capacity after California expansion
The South San Francisco expansion targets up to 15,000 aircraft a year as Zipline grows home and healthcare deliveries.

Zipline announced on 30 September 2025 that it would triple the footprint of its South San Francisco manufacturing facility, targeting capacity to produce up to 15,000 autonomous delivery aircraft annually. The expansion will add integration, quality-assurance and manufacturing roles as the company grows its home-delivery service. The capacity figure describes the planned expanded facility.
Zipline reported more than 1.6 million completed deliveries and 115 million autonomous miles across its international network. Its US home-delivery service, launched in April, was already operating from 10 Walmart Supercenters and serving Chipotle and Buffalo Wild Wings, making hundreds of trips per day. Further store and restaurant launches were planned around Dallas–Fort Worth.
Customers could order more than 65,000 items through Zipline’s app. The company’s network also served more than 5,000 hospitals and health facilities across four continents. The California expansion is intended to supply aircraft for that growing logistics network; the cumulative delivery and flight totals cover the company’s operations across markets.
