Amazon turned Kiva from a third-party warehouse supplier into an internal robotics platform
Amazon acquired Kiva Systems in 2012 and later renamed the operation Amazon Robotics. Before the acquisition, Kiva supplied warehouse systems to multiple retailers and logistics operators; Amazon subsequently concentrated the technology on its own fulfilment network and stopped renewing at least some outside access.
