LeddarTech exited lidar hardware for pure-play perception software, then suspended active operations
LeddarTech's earlier identity centred on lidar components and modules, but in fiscal 2022 it chose to become a pure-play automotive software company focused on sensor-fusion and perception products. It discontinued the components business and ceased module operations in September 2024. In June 2025, after talks with a potential commercial counterparty ended, LeddarTech laid off most employees, said it did not expect to resume active operations while reviewing alternatives, and warned that those alternatives could include an asset sale, dissolution or insolvency process. The software pivot therefore replaced the former hardware business but did not mature into ordinary continuing operations.
