EvoLogics’ Quadroin AUV Wins the 2024 Berlin Deep Tech Award

The award recognized a Berlin-built underwater vehicle that evolved from an environmental-monitoring project into a sensor-rich survey platform.

EvoLogics’ Quadroin autonomous underwater vehicle won the Robotics category of the 2024 Berlin Deep Tech Award, with the winners announced on 11 July.

The Berlin-based company said Quadroin was selected from nearly 100 applications.

Quadroin was originally developed through work with Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon for the Helmholtz Association’s MOSES environmental-monitoring initiative. Early prototypes were used to collect water data around ocean eddies.

Ahead of the award, EvoLogics expanded the platform with side-scan sonar, underwater cameras and onboard object recognition.

Those additions broadened Quadroin beyond environmental sampling toward autonomous survey and inspection missions, combining underwater mobility with sensing and onboard perception.
