Kardex said on May 19, 2025 that Alfa Laval selected it to deliver an AutoStore system for a new 324,000-square-foot distribution center in Indianapolis. The project is built around spare-parts fulfillment, which gives the automation a different operating profile from high-volume ecommerce picking.
Kardex says the spare-parts system is designed for up to 350 bin presentations per hour and includes a 15-year support agreement.
Alfa Laval is designing the automation into a distribution center intended to handle years of spare-parts demand, inventory changes and maintenance.
Kardex became a global AutoStore partner in 2021 and says it has delivered more than 80 projects across 18 countries with over 200 specialists. It supplies integration and service for the Alfa Laval installation.
