Kraken receives C$34M SeaPower battery orders and plans Nova Scotia production site
New SeaPower orders accompany a planned Canadian factory expansion for underwater-vehicle batteries.

Kraken Robotics announced C$34 million in SeaPower battery orders from three customers on 26 February 2025, together with plans for a new production facility in Nova Scotia. One unnamed defence-industry customer placed a C$31 million order, the company’s largest battery order to that date, while two commercial customers accounted for C$3 million.
SeaPower pressure-tolerant lithium-polymer batteries supply energy to uncrewed underwater vehicles. The orders reflect demand across US, European and Asia-Pacific programmes, including larger vehicle classes requiring extended endurance. Kraken also planned new battery formats for smaller and medium-sized vehicles later in 2025.
The leased facility will provide approximately 60,000 square feet of office and production space. Kraken planned a C$10 million investment and expected operations towards the end of 2025, complementing its German battery factory. It said the expansion would triple capacity and include pressure-testing tanks rated to 6,000 metres. Those figures describe planned manufacturing capability; the orders remained separate from completed deliveries.
