Machina Labs raises $32M Series B to advance robotic metal forming
Machina Labs closed a $32 million Series B financing on 5 October 2023 to develop AI-controlled robotic manufacturing of complex metal and composite parts.

Machina Labs closed a $32 million Series B financing on 5 October 2023 to develop AI-controlled robotic manufacturing of complex metal and composite parts. NVentures, NVIDIA's venture capital division, and existing investor Innovation Endeavors co-led the round, bringing the Los Angeles company's cumulative financing to $45 million.
The company uses industrial robots and software-controlled forming processes to produce shaped components without conventional dedicated stamping dies, particularly for aerospace and defence manufacturing. Its approach connects robotic motion, material deformation and iterative digital manufacturing, potentially making lower-volume geometry changes more practical than retooling standard presses. The funding represented capital for its manufacturing process and facilities, not a stated robotic-arm sales programme.
Robotic sheet forming is the first process supported by Machina’s manufacturing platform. The company uses software to change the tool paths and shapes produced by its robots, reducing dependence on dedicated moulds and dies for each design. Founded in 2019 by aerospace and automotive veterans, Machina plans to use the financing to meet customer demand and advance its research, including AI and simulation capabilities.
