Machina Labs is scaling robotic sheet forming into factory capacity

A $124M Series C funds a larger production footprint after Machina proved robotic sheet forming across aerospace, defense and mobility parts.

Machina Labs raised $124 million in Series C funding in February 2026, with plans for a robotic manufacturing facility of more than 200,000 square feet. Axios reported that initial production would focus on missile structures and airframes, with Lockheed Martin Ventures, Balerion Space Ventures, Woven Capital, and Strategic Development Fund participating in the round.

Machina was co-founded in 2019 by CEO Edward Mehr and Babak Raeisinia, head of applications and partnerships. The company came out of stealth in 2021 and raised a $32 million Series B in 2023 co-led by NVentures and Innovation Endeavors. Its core process uses robots for sheet-metal forming without custom molds or dies for every part, allowing software-driven toolpaths to shape metal through robotic motion.

Lockheed Martin Ventures connects the company to defense aerospace, Woven Capital connects to mobility manufacturing, and Strategic Development Fund connects to EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi. Axios reported that Machina had worked with the Air Force and that the business mix was about 70% defense and 30% commercial at the time of the report.
