Mujin and Accenture announced a joint venture on 25 January 2024 to provide automation services for manufacturing and logistics customers. Accenture Alpha Automation is owned 70% by Accenture and 30% by Mujin and began operating in Tokyo on 15 January. The venture combines Mujin’s intelligent robotics with Accenture’s engineering and industrial transformation services.

The partners aim to connect data from manufacturing and logistics operations with business information such as financial, supply-chain and market data. Mujin contributes robotics control and integration technology, while Accenture’s Industry X business supplies expertise in redesigning industrial processes and connecting operational systems. The work covers deployment of automation within customer facilities.

Accenture Ventures also made a direct investment in Mujin, with financial terms undisclosed. Mujin joined its Project Spotlight programme as the first company in Asia, gaining access to enterprise expertise and connections intended to help develop and commercialise its technology. The investment and joint venture create complementary routes for collaboration on industrial automation.
