Tesla presents Optimus Gen 2 with revised actuators, hands and walking
Tesla has presented Optimus Gen 2, an updated humanoid prototype with revised actuators, sensors, hands and locomotion.

The redesign places greater emphasis on coordinated movement and a lighter mechanical structure. Tesla shows an articulated neck, more fluid walking and controlled changes in posture, alongside hands designed to handle objects with greater precision.
A delicate egg-handling sequence demonstrates the interaction between finger movement and contact control. These are selected prototype behaviours shown in Tesla’s own footage, rather than measurements of sustained autonomous work in a customer environment.
Gen 2 brings Tesla’s humanoid work further into integrated hardware development, with its own actuators and sensing supporting both whole-body motion and manipulation. The video introduces the revised prototype without announcing a commercial delivery programme.
