Unitree introduces H1 full-size humanoid built around high-torque joints

Unitree has introduced H1, its first full-size humanoid, expanding its robot hardware programme from quadrupeds into bipedal platforms. Revealed on 15 August, the robot stands approximately 1.8 m tall and weighs about 47 kg.
H1 uses internally developed high-torque joints, with the knee rated at up to 360 N·m. Its original configuration provides five degrees of freedom per leg and four per arm, combining a lightweight structure with the power required for balance and walking.
A 3D LiDAR and depth camera provide spatial information around the robot. Unitree positions H1 as a platform for general-purpose development, including prospective industrial and service applications, rather than a single fixed workflow.
The company initially targets shipments around the fourth quarter of 2023. The reveal establishes Unitree’s entry into full-size humanoid hardware; later locomotion records and upgraded H1 configurations are separate development milestones.
