About Nearhuman
Nearhuman develops retrofit camera modules that run safety perception on shared e-scooters and e-bikes. The onboard system is designed to identify pavement riding, close encounters with pedestrians and road hazards. Video is processed and redacted on the vehicle so fleet operators can receive safety information without routinely transferring sensitive footage off-device.
Founder Faizan Mir established the company at Bristol Robotics Laboratory after studying robotics at UWE Bristol. Its live Bristol pilot tests the technology in street conditions, while a £350,000 pre-seed round led by SFC Capital supports development, on-street testing and commercial deployment. The intended customers include micromobility operators, with street-condition information also relevant to councils.
