01

Hyundai / Boston Dynamics

Hyundai is buying SoftBank's remaining 9.65% stake in Boston Dynamics for $325M, taking it to full ownership. Hyundai affiliates already hold just over 90%; the deal closes out a put option from the 2021 transaction, pending board approval June 22.

Boston Dynamics' commercial lineup: Spot for inspection, Stretch for warehouse unloading, and the electric Atlas humanoid, now shipping to Hyundai's Georgia plant. Full ownership folds Boston Dynamics into Hyundai's industrial automation strategy rather than leaving it as a standalone robotics holding.

02

SEAHI Robotics

SEAHI, also Shihang Intelligent, closed a Series A exceeding RMB 1 billion (~$140M), the largest single round in global marine robotics. New investors include the Moore Threads/Kunlunxin-backed Shanghe Dongliang fund, Temasek's Vertex Growth, and CITIC's agriculture fund; existing backers, including Jinshajiang, Vertex China, Huaying, and Changshi, all followed on.

SEAHI builds marine robotics and embodied-intelligence systems for ship cleaning, seabed inspection, marine ranching, and underwater maintenance. New orders in H1 2026 alone exceeded RMB 1 billion.

03

XDOF

XDOF raised $70M from Thrive Capital, Spark Capital, a16z, Lux, and WndrCo to build data infrastructure for robot foundation models, exiting stealth this month. It builds data pipelines, collection tools, and annotation systems for labs training physical-AI models.

First release, ABC-130K: 130,000 manipulation trajectories, 300 hours of simulation, 100 hours of evaluation data, developed with UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, and Amazon's Frontier AI & Robotics group.

Founded October 2024 by Philipp Wu, Yide Shentu, and Nemo Jin, ex-Covariant, Meta, Tesla, XDOF already has ~20 customers, including several frontier labs.

Public-market and capital-structure notes

RoboStrategy (Nasdaq: BOT) raised $28.9M via private placement: 797,434 shares at $36.28 weighted average, issued June 11-16. It's a closed-end fund giving public exposure to private robotics and physical-AI companies including Figure AI, Apptronik, Dyna Robotics, and Dexmate.

China's CSRC said this week it will back IPOs for "future industry" sectors including robotics.

Momenta, autonomous driving rather than robotics-core, just cleared CSRC approval for a Hong Kong listing targeting ~$1B, a live signal of that policy translating into actual approvals.

06

Drone and autonomy sweep

Powerus received a $30M strategic investment from Unusual Machines to scale U.S. autonomous-drone manufacturing, deepening an existing supply relationship ahead of Powerus's pending merger with Aureus Greenway.

Prophesee raised EUR 20M (~$22M), led by Critical Path Ventures, and launched Mantara, an event-based drone detection system: perception-stack raise with a clear counter-UAS angle.

PDKINEMATICS raised EUR 2M, co-led by Coinvest Capital and Iron Wolf Capital, to scale UAV precision-guidance manufacturing across Europe and Ukraine.
