About KargoBot
KargoBot develops autonomous-driving systems for heavy freight trucks operating on repeatable commercial corridors. Its hybrid driverless model uses a human-driven lead vehicle with automated follower trucks, combining vehicle-to-vehicle coordination with onboard perception and control. This allows a convoy to share operating context while reducing the number of drivers required across the full group of vehicles.
The company is also developing Level 4 trucks for routes where the vehicle can complete the driving task without an onboard driver. Deployment includes dispatch, route management, remote supervision and integration with shippers and logistics parks alongside the autonomy kit. Backed by DiDi, KargoBot has operated commercial freight fleets in several Chinese regions and uses those journeys to refine behaviour around highway traffic, yards, loading points and changing road conditions.

- 2026-09-22 - Deployment - KargoBot launches AI freight transport network in Ordos
KargoBot says its hybrid autonomous platooning operations improve route profit margins by 10% to 18% compared with traditional transport. The company says one operator can supervise two to three vehicles in its platooning model; standalone autonomy targets short-haul routes, industrial parks and ports. Cabless transport robots remain in testing and iteration, rather than established commercial service.

Tencent Cloud will provide compute, data-storage and TI-ONE AI-platform tooling for the programme. The operating fleet exceeds 100 autonomous heavy trucks. Cumulative freight movement has reached 1.4 billion tonne-kilometres.
Source - 2026-04-24 - Partnership - Hesai and KargoBot select ETX and FTX LiDAR for KargoBot Space 2.0
KargoBot Space 2.0 is set to use Hesai's 4,320-line 6D full-color ETX LiDAR together with the second-generation solid-state FTX blind-spot LiDAR. Hesai says ETX can produce native 6D full-color point clouds at up to 4K resolution, with up to 600 m ranging and 400 m at 10% reflectivity. The selection sits within KargoBot's L4 freight strategy and the companies' planned hardware-adaptation and data-feedback collaboration.
